Since it's launch in 2016, the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR) has been a key player in identifying vulnerable households for social protection programs. Covering eight regions so far, the GNHR is now expanding to other parts of Ghana, particularly areas with high poverty levels, to ensure effective targeting and transparency. As part of this expansion, the GNHR is undertaking the LEAP Reassessment project to reassess existing beneficiaries and ensure that support reaches those who need it most.
The GNHR Scale-Up and LEAP Reassessment Project is critical in strengthening Ghana’s social protection framework. By reassessing existing LEAP beneficiaries, the government can determine their current living conditions and ensure that resources are allocated fairly. This initiative targets individuals aged 65 and above, persons with severe disabilities resulting in functional limitations and no productive capacity, caregivers of orphans and vulnerable children, and pregnant women with children aged 0 to 1 year.
Esoko, a leader in digital solutions for rural and vulnerable communities, has been entrusted with conducting this critical assessment. With years of experience in data collection and community engagement, Esoko ensures that the enumeration process is efficient, accurate, and inclusive. Our trained field enumerators will be visiting households across various districts covering the Upper East, Northern, and North East regions, Bono, Ahafo, Ashanti, Western, Western North, Central, and Greater Accra, to collect data and conduct interviews for 200,062 households.
The trained field enumeration officers will visit households to verify their status and eligibility for continued support. Beneficiaries will be required to present a valid form of identification, such as a Ghana Card, Voter ID, or Health Insurance Card. The success of this project depends on the cooperation of community members, who are urged to provide accurate and detailed information

As the enumeration process begins, we call on all community leaders, chiefs, district coordinators, and residents to welcome the field officers and support the process. Providing truthful and complete information will help ensure that social protection programs reach the right households, fostering development and improving livelihoods across Ghana.
