Who is Esoko?
Esoko's Evolution into Comprehensive Rural Management Solutions
Esoko, established in 2008 as a social enterprise, embarked on a transformative journey within agritech. Initially driven by the vision of leveraging information and communication technologies (ICT) to revolutionize agricultural markets in Africa, the company recognized the pivotal role of mobile phones as accessible communication tools in rural communities. The primary objective was to utilize ICT to reshape the dynamics of agricultural markets on the continent.
From its inception, Esoko was founded on the fundamental belief that enhanced access to information is instrumental in fortifying markets. This conviction stems from the understanding that robust markets, in turn, have a positive impact on livelihoods. Over time, Esoko has evolved and diversified its offerings, expanding beyond its agritech roots. The introduction of the in-house solution known as the Insyt app marked a significant milestone in the company's evolution. This solution, designed for data collection, further strengthened Esoko's commitment to facilitating informed decision-making and fostering efficient market interactions.
